The Sick Little Clock – A Nursery Rhyme

Tick, tock, tick tock, tick tock

Says the grandfather clock.

Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick

Says the little clock who’s sick.

A clock without it’s tock is very ill

And unlike humans can’t take a pill.

So the clock mender must be sent for

Listen, he’s already here at the front door.

‘Oh dear,’ he says, ‘ it can’t be fixed,

It’s not ill, it’s been bewitched!’

So we send for Wanda the Witch

She has a nose, she likes to twitch,

One, two, three,  she chants a spell

To make the sick little clock well.

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock

Says the grandfather clock.

Tick, tock, tick tock, tick tock

Wanda Witch has cured the sick clock!

    • Thanks Wendell, I don’t find it easy writing for children, so this was definitely a challenge. Talking of challenges, I will soon be coming to the end of this one, only two more poems to go before the end of April. Carolina
